I'm finally working to get some information in here! It's only been a few months, right? First, welcome. I'm glad you found us. We're just a military family, currently stationed in sunny Southern California. Our family unit consists of Moose, my daughter - the center of our universe, our two dogs, myself and Daddy Moose, who is currently deployed with the USMC. This is our first deployment since the arrival of the Moose nearly 4 years ago, and wow...it's different.
A little about me: Michelle is not my real name, but it is my Superhero name. I am a full-time photographer, part-time writer, coffee addict in need of an intervention, and all-around overachiever. I volunteer (currently) for four separate organizations that are each very close to my heart. I'm more than mildly obsessed with all things yellow (like my yellow lab), and I can also be a bit opinionated. I'm a pro-choice, conservative, atheist. (Not three words you tend to see in the same sentence.) I currently have no opinion on the 2012 Election, so don't ask. I'm still figuring it out. I also have a bit of a potty mouth from time to time, so I'll try to keep it in check.
Like everyone else, I have a story. I'm a cancer survivor. I'm a survivor of suicide loss. But the important word in both of those is SURVIVOR. I don't give up without a fight. I stand behind our troops, in this day when so very few people do. I passionately advocate for veterans mental health issues. I'm a fiercely loyal friend, wife, and most importantly: mother. Don't mess with the Moose.
About Moose: well, she's 3 1/2. She's brilliant (not just saying that because she inherited my genetic code). She's beautiful to me, even when other moms give me backhanded compliments about her curly hair. So what if she's not a blonde-haired, blue-eyed pixie who clings to mommy's legs? My girl is strong. She has her opinions about things already, and is not afraid to share them. She makes me proud every day, and I am certain that one day, she will be POTUS and maybe get this country out of the current mess we're in. (Yes, she voted McCain/Palin with me 4 years ago, and got the sticker to prove it.)

*I've been writing a novel in my head for about two years now. It's almost ready to see paper...almost
*I read. A lot.
*I'm addicted to Harry Potter and the Twilight Series. Guilty pleasure and escapism.
*In high school, I wanted to be an engineer.
*I update my Facebook status far too often.
*Moose loves David Guetta.
*My first car was nicknamed The Twisted Coconut.
*I still name my cars.
*I'd die if margaritas or pina coladas ever became illegal. I'm not an alcoholic, I just talk like one.
